Hi Guys,

As the title says, my Asus P5N32-E SLI 680i is reading at 127c!

Have had some probs with my system resetting - hopefully that is now sorted. touch wood.

But now the mobo is reporting that the temp is 127c. The temp sensor is sitting under a 8800gtx, but it's been fine for the last couple of weeks. I did start getting this stupidly high reading a couple of weeks ago, but i put that down to a non-working intake fan.

Case is an Antec P180b with the additional intake fans. BIOS is 0602 version.

Help! anybody!

if u have overclcoked madly then that might be the answer for all the heating. Otherwise check using everest etc the temps.

If the inside of your case was 127'c then your PC would not be working guarenteed, its obviously a false reading. Check the temperature as it is displayed in the bios, then go back to your windows based program and match the temperatures. Ignore erroneous temperatures.

I think u have very inaccurate sensors on your motherboard. You could check the real voltages with a multimeter if u had one.

Might have cracked it!

Took the rig to work and borrowed a multimeter to take some readings. My +5v is actually +5.1-2v and the +12v is +12.2-3v. No great shakes there.

However, I had a friend at work who builds systems quite regularly. He was horrified at the size of the mobo screw's heads( it's like a screw with a washer ).
the screw in the top right hand side of the mobo ( above the chip marked 'iTE IT8718f-S' ) had encroached on the small square things ( pardon my ignorance, I don't know what they are)above the chip - and when we loosened the screw one came off -to be lost on the floor. I have since put some thin cardboard washers under the screws.

Have I borked my mobo being a bit to overzealous with this screw?

***Edit***
I have also taken the 8800GTX from being powered from the rail with two GPU red sockets to being powered by one socket from that and one extra socket from another rail - the mobo temp is now normal!
I heard that the 8800GTX can be a little to greedy, so I did this on advice from a mate in the know.
