When I put all the components together in the case. When I tried to power up the system the fans spun, the HDDs span up and the DVD drive responded to the eject button being pushed, however no posting beep and nothing came up on the monitor. I then removed the RAM and the motherboard gave the standard beeps indicating as such. I have tried putting only one stick of RAM in any slot to no effect.

Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? Might this be an incompatibility in the RAM or something else?

Done the CMOS clear for over a minute, checked the battery (3V as it should be) and yes all connectors are in fully as they should be.

yeah the GFX is seated fine and I don't have a spare CPU to check the mobo out with unfortunately. I think this might be a mobo issue because if it was CPU then it would beep accordingly.

Make sure the main 24pin power connector is not being pulled to the right.
The socket position can cause some of the pins to not fully connect if your into cable management.
Would be worth borrowing a cpu/pc from a friend to fault check if possable.

Also worth a check that all the jumpers are in the right places.

Had pretty much the same problem yesterday (PC won't POST with RAM in and gives no beeps, but without RAM it beeps) although a different cpu/motherboard combo. I got a new motherboard yesterday and it arrived this morning, and the PC is now booting up fine - so for me it was my motherboard. Just thought I'd mention it, since the problems were so similar.

Tried taking the mobo out of the case and still nothing. When I remove the GFX card the motherboard does not beep indicating that there is no GFX. Maybe it's a dodgy mobo? Going to RMA it anyways and that should hopefully sort it out.

just for closure, Tested the RAM out in a different system and found it was faulty. Rookie error I know, but I didn't expect the RAM to cause failure to boot at all.
