I have a p5q with an e6600.

I have checked the forums for peoples successful settings a few months ago and had a go myself. I thought I had finally got a stable overclock - Stress tests passed ok and all was good.

I was running 8x400 (so ram at stock 800mhz), until one day the pc reset, clocked back to stock, and the date and time died and it gave me one day to activate vista - Which as my internet was down I had to reinstall!

Anyone care to post their stable settings for a p5q overclock?
A simple 3.2ghz would be fine - I just think my cpu (rig in sig) is holding the machine back.

TIA

Here are OC settings from Overclockers to put right a failed OC when I switched on my new Titan Accelerator. On my rig it takes me to 3023.54. May be a starting point for you.

AI tweaker

Ai Overclock Tuner - Manual

CPU ratio Setting - 09.0
FSB Frequency - 335
PCIe Frequency - 101
DRAM Frequency - 671mhz
DRAM Timings - Manual
CAS Latency - 5
DRAM Ras to Cas Delay - 5
DRAM Ras Precharge - 5
DRAM Ras Activate to Precharge - 18
All the rest set to Auto

CPU voltage - 1.45000
CPU PLL Voltage - 1.60
FSB Termination Voltage - 1.30
DRAM Voltage - 2.10
NB Voltage - 1.20

Loadline Calibration - Disable
CPU Spread Spectrum - Disable
PCI-e Spread Spectrum - Disable

I have had a quick go:
CPU ratio Setting - 09.0
FSB Frequency - 333
PCIe Frequency - 100
DRAM Frequency - 800mhz (Or whatever the setting is so with 333fsb the ram is at 800)
DRAM Timings - Manual
CAS Latency - 5
DRAM Ras to Cas Delay - 5
DRAM Ras Precharge - 5
DRAM Ras Activate to Precharge - 15
All the rest set to Auto

CPU voltage - 1.25
CPU PLL Voltage - auto
FSB Termination Voltage - auto
DRAM Voltage - 2.10
NB Voltage - auto

Loadline Calibration - Disable
CPU Spread Spectrum - Disable
PCI-e Spread Spectrum - Disable

And under the other bit in the bios
C1E support - Disable
Max CPUD value limit - Disable
Intel Virtualisation tech - Enable
CPU TM Funtion - Enable
Execute disable bit - Disable

Seems stable so far and passes super pi - Obviously will 3d mark and orthos at some point too.

Was originally after 400x8=3.2ghz but the cpu needed over 1.3v and it was hitting 60degrees idle (at this point my artic freezer speeds up and is noisier).

Am I OK leaving most voltages on auto??
Can I use the cool and quiet?? (the thing that lowers the multi when idle).
CPU volts is 1.25v, but cpuz is reporting it quite a bit lower than that!
Any comments/suggestions??

Thanks:)
