Hi guys, i bought an asus p5q from ocuk about a month ago. it replaced my asus p5b, i swapped all my gear over and it booted fine, after a few minutes browsing in firefox it freezes. trying to launch crysis makes it crash as soon as the screen goes black at the start of loading the game.

i reported this to ocuk who gave me an rma, they say they tested it for 8 hours on prime95 and found no problems. they sent it back, now i get NOTHING. i know every component works as ive tested them in 2 other rigs with no problem. the face that it now works even less than when i sent it away is a concern to me, this has been going on for a month now and i have no pc :( ive tried 2 different psu's, 2 different makes of ram, 2 different processors and 2 different graphics cards. reset the cmos and trying different ram slots has not helped. ocuk support have asked me to send it back again, i cant understand how they were able to get it to boot! does anyone have any thoughts or ideas? thanks in advance guys.

sorry i wasnt clear enough, when they sent it back the situation had got worse - now i dont get an image on the screen. everything powers up ok, it just does nothing. no BIOS, nothing.

Running prime95 for 8hrs isn't exactly a full functional test. I used to work in the electronics industry and the company I worked for used to manufacture motherboards, phones etc. The tests that OcUK carry out would not identify all issues with a board, the only way that this can be done is to return the board to the manufacturer who will have the equipment to carry out a full functional test.

Build it up outside the case with the minimum of components (just place the board on top of its box).
