Asus P5Q Range ... Any guides??

Looking at getting an Asus P5Q ... Was going to opt for the Deluxe but not sure I can stretch to that much if there are cheaper versions that will suit my needs. (There seems to be loads of these P5Q's...)

Deffinately has to be:
P45 chipset
4+ Sata Ports
PCI-E

Raid is optional...

Don't need and will never need XFire or SLi.

Anything extra is just a bonus!

Any help on which one(s) I should be looking at??

If you do not need xfire then just the standard P5Q would be fine I would think.

Just a standard if your not wanting X-Fire.

I went witht he Pro in the end and am Happy I did, I've used all of the SATA ports lol.
RAID has been a doddle on this board, as was overclocking my e8400 > 4Ghz.

Very nice range full of features.

Just look at the terrible positioning of the 24pin ATX connector though.


I would pay the extra £2 for the turbo which has the connector in the proper place.

i have the standard one and its great. Running an nvidia 295 in it .

I have used 10 P5Q Pro's to build our PC's at work (our live servers even run on them) and they work a charm, stable, cool and expandable too. I have fiddled about overclocking mine as well and seems quite a doddle

P5Q-E runs like a dream & overclocks like a charm even for a cave dweller like me.

Just for the sake of the better 24-pin location over the standard P5Q.
