Asus P5W DH CPU Question

Hi Guys,

I have a Asus P5W DH motherboard (Socket 775).

I currently have an Intel Core 2 6400 CPU in it 2.13GHZ

My question is can I still buy a new CPU that will work in this motherboard.

If so can help on what would be the most I could upgrade to without having to buy a new motherboard?

Any skt 775 cpu will be compatable. However, the P5WDH is very poor for overclocking quad core cpu's so if that is your intention then its best to stick with a dual core.

Hi there, i use to have the Asus P5W DH Deluxe mobo and to be fair it was an ok mobo, i got my E6600 up to 3.60GHZ at one time but after a while it got unstable, i would suggest getting a new mobo IMHO, if your wanting to stick with socket 775 then i would go and get the awsome P45, Asus P5Q Deluxe, awesome at overclocking Core 2 Duo's and Quad's *got my E8600 to 4.00GHZ on it* and also mybe look at getting a more up to date core 2 CPU, both of which can be bought at OcuK.
