Asus P6T and SSD query

Hi all,

looking at getting this with a i7 920, 6Gb ram and 80Gb Intel X25-M SSD drive.

I'm just a little confused over all this intel v jmicron controller debate thing when it comes to SSD drives (?)

The mobo spec says "JMicron® JMB363 PATA and SATA controller"

A lot of folks says steer clear of jmicron controllers, So, would this have an effect on my intended choice of SSD?

Is the argument over controllers on the mobo or ssd itself?

Use the onboard intel controller on the mobo.

Should be fine.

I have the p6t palm deluxe, and disabled the onboard j-micron stuff as i dont use it.

Same here, I use the intel controller for a single vertex, ACHI mode.

Yeah I disabled the JMicron one also, I've only got 1 hdd atm so I obviously use the Intel controller
