i've got the V2 version arriving today and have been looking around at the various differences between these two and the only thing i have found is that the V2 has the SAS controller removed yet they have differenct bios revisions etc.

Are there any other differences between these? and i'm assuming performance etc is still the same?

SAS controller was removed due to 'issues' with it - apart from that, they're the exact same board. Performance will be identical.

I am lost, have been looking for a board (1366) for a while now, I decided on the p6t deluxe but if the SAS is not working I am confused again. There seems to be better cooling with that copper heat pipe going down to the south bridge. But when you can buy that Gigabyte EX58-UD3R for £180 it becomes even more confusing. Can anyone help me out because I have never OC before and I would like to know if I would actually use any of the features that the P6T range has to offer.

the v2 also support higher ram speed and 24gb mem i think.there only very minor difference between them so i wouldn't really be too concerned

No point in getting v1 unless you have SAS drives (which a fairly expensive and unnecessary for the average home user). Save money and get v2.
