So i finally got round to receiving the final part for my new build and i plug it in and press the power button, all the lights come on and the fans spin up for 1 second and then it returns to as if i hadn't pushed the power button i then press it again and nothing happens.
please help i have tried reseting he cmos i have tried different power supplies and hardware and i now know that it is definitely the motherboard.
anyone had similar problems?

Both MB power connectors attached?
CPU fan definitely plugged in?

Sounds like auto shut down due to overheating, unless the board is simply broken.
Autoshutdown would be CPU based, seated right, thermal paste correctly palced, no little plastic strip still stuck to the very bottom of the cpu heatsink?

I have this board and on initial power up it pulse to life, shuts down then immediately comes back on, as he system precharges its own capacitors, seems like yours is doing step 1 and refusing to do step 2.

You could ask on asus forums but technically to negotiate them, they are amongst the worse ever created. Write your query in notepad then paste it into the board, as it has a high chance of losing your post when you click submit, and that is very fustrating.
