Ive had my P6t for a wee while now with 2x 280s, no complaints..

although on checking something this caught my eye:

Supports NVIDIA 2-Way or Quad-GPU SLI Technology

now, it doesnt look like theirs much space to fit anything else in beside 2x 280s, so the 'Quad-GPU SLI Technology' slightly confused me.

does that mean the P6t would support 2x295s?

not that im gonna go out and buy them, sli-280s can handle anything without breaking a sweat... im just curious.

Yeah it means, that you could run either two 9800GX2s or GTX295s in SLI to create a Quad SLI setup.

you can only run two daul core based GPUs or 4 single cards

in other words 2 GTX295/GX2s or 4 singles like 4 GTX285s (which is sick)

same for crossfire X

Nivida SLI

You can run up to three single GPU cards in either SLI or Tri-SLI. However you can also run two dual GPU card to create a quad SLI setup. But you can't run four single GPU cards to create a quad SLI setup.

ATI Crossfire

You can run up to four single GPU cards in either crossfire/tri xfire/quad xfire. However you can also run two dual GPU cards to create a quad xfire setup that way.

Mobos with 4+ PCIe slots

At present the most GPUs that you can run simultaneously in a mobo or OS if four. So that could be four GTX285s or 4890s, but you could even run four dual GPUs such as four 4870X2s or GTX295s. However these wouldn't run in SLI or crossfire.

I'm pretty sure you can't even run 4 of the same card. All the demos I have seen of the ASRock X58 board have used 3 of 1 card (GTX280's usually) and then 1 workstation card.

The Atlas folder :)

Atlas Folder is:

23) nVidia GTX295 (46 computing units)
32) 9800GX2 (64 computing units)

14) MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboards
14) AMD dual and quad core processors (9950 and 5050e)
28) Gigabytes RAM

Microsoft Windows XP x64 on all

2 Middle Atlantic Products Slim-5 19″ racks
14 Middle Atlantic Products Clamping Rackshelves, model RC-4
Estimated Single-Precision Computing FLOPS:

23 nVidia GTX295 at 1.788 TeraFLOPS each
41.124 TeraFLOPS total

32 nVidia 9800GX2 at 1.152 TeraFLOPS each
36.864 TeraFLOPS total
77.988 TeraFLOPS

The below picture consists of either GTX 295s or 9800GX2s.

I'm running 3 x GTX280 in tri-SLi on mine, no problems.

hmm... im sure i was told the P6tD only supports 3x GPUs with Cross Fire... have i been lied to? can i squeeze in another 280?

hmmm..... on reading some other random ramblings on the interwebs it appears that the P6T (original, standard) supports Tri-Sli but the [bold]DELUXE[/bold] version doesn't... only Cross-Fire.

if this is true, WTF ASUS.

Yes, I have a P6T and it supports Tri-SLi, the P6T Deluxe doesn't. If you have a read through some of my old posts you'll see I've long argued that there is absolutley no reason to pay more for a P6T Deluxe over a P6T. They don't clock better, it's hugely more expensive and it doesn't support Tri-SLi.

I only responded because your thread title says P6T, which isn't the same as a P6T Deluxe. Sorry if I got your hopes up.

Isnt that some what over kill?:p

Andy

Sorry for the late reply, I just spotted this. All current high-end PCs are overkill. You don't need anything much better than an E2180/X4850 graphics setup to run most games, but what fun is that?

More Power!

Na in ATI terms you can't physical fit 4 dual cooler cards anyway only single cooler cards like the stock HD4850 what I know off

i live, i learn. i've fell for the old marketing ploy of 'deluxe super amazing ultimate' for the last ******* time.

The only benefit of the P6T Deluxe is it has the OC Palm for quick changes of your system.. but to be honest.. who really changes their OC settings so much that they need a little hand held device? i think ive used it three times in the past couple of months alone.,, once ive got it stable and fast, it stays like that until something goes wrong.

oh well, at least when my rig finally struggles to play games the deluxe can fit in 2x 295s (obviously something will be better by then but you get me).
