Recently i always feel massively let down by asus board layout :(

on this board if you go dual sli/xfire then u have access to no pci slots

msi seem to have it nailed for me at the moment, looking forward to ocuk getting the big bang series in stock :D

I'm happy to see the first ASUS X58 motherboard with USB 3 and SATA 6GB/s support arriving in the UK. Now I just need to wait for the micro ATX version (Rampage III Gene or whatever). Sorry, I know I've posted about it before but the waiting is killing me.

Good to see it isn't the p6t deluxe v4 like the original design suggested
can't wait to see what these are like

Been waiting for some reviews of this board nice to see it's arriving at last :). Do you have any info on the Rampage 3? Although if this is the price of the premium I dread to think how much the Rampage 3 is going to cost, even if it is the successor and should cost the same as the Rampage 2 but hey, it never works that way lol.

Been waiting for this for a while, nice to see it in stock.

I'm building a PC for the first time, so I'm a little new to this. Can someone please explain to me why, if I was to run two Nvidia cards in SLI, why I wouldn't have access to any more slots? The board has five PCI slots, surely two Nvidia cards wouldn't take up all the space around the five slots?

The cards and coolers are physically so big they actually take up 2 expansion card spaces, so 2 large graphics cards will actually take up 4 expansion slots, they aren't plugged into these other slots they cover but nothing else can use them either because they are covered up.

Is there anything out there of any use that is still made on PCI? All the new sounds cards, RAID cards, network cards, they are all being made on PCI-E, I don't see what the worry of not having any PCI slots is??

well having already paid £50 on a PCI soundcard it would be a shame to ditch it for equivalent PCI-e version...

Well you are a very silly boy for buying a PCI sound card then aren't you! :p I understand people still have PCI cards, i'm using a PCI soundcard now, but I just think if you are willing to spend 250 on a mobo I would've thought you wouldn't have an 'old' PCI sound card?

My Soundblaster Audigy 2 still sounds better than anything ASUS has ever included with its Rampage and Extreme boards, I will be sticking with it until it no longer works.

Thanks for the clarification Andy. I'm in the same boat as you and Creed; I have an X-Fi Xtreme Gamer PCI card which I bought nearly three years ago now and it's a perfectly good card, so I might as well use it. I just checked OcUK and they have it on sale for £63.99, so it's still worth something!

I won't be running SLI at first so I'll fit it into the 2nd PCI slot for the meantime but I guess in the future if I do go SLI, I'll have to ditch the X-Fi for a PCI-e version (or just use the integrated audio, hopefully it's at least half decent!).
