Just a quick Question

will my i7 860 fit / work in this mobo

what little knowledge i have...

says yes - but i have to be sure right ?

Im asking as i looks like i buggerd a mobo up moving it out of one case
to another

Your motherboard will be fine, but check your BIOS rev first:

Really nice mobo. I've got an i5 750 on mine, but an i7 would be fine.

The latest BIOS rev has a better auto overclock than before. I've not really had the time to fiddle recently but 30 seconds with the bios gave me 3.71 Ghz on a 2.67Ghz chip with no real noticeable in increase in temps.
