Hey,

Just purchased a few bit and pieces and had my first attempt at building my PC, but having some issues on bootup that I'm hoping someone will understand what they mean.

I get 2 slow red flashes on the CPU_LED as well as one on the VGA_LED...because my Antec 300 case doesn't come with a system speaker I'm a little stuck as to what the motherboard is trying to tell me. The boot sequence doesn't seem to start as I get no output on my monitor. I read this thread (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18118695) and wondered whether I should be keeping that plug in, why is it even there as it says it NEEDS 8 pins to be plugged or will not work.
Assuming my CPU is not screwed would incorrectly placed RAM cause the CPU_LED light to flash?

My Chasis fans are working perfectly as well as my CPU fan by the way.

Can you take a look at my components below and advise that I haven't done something stupid in terms of compatibility please

Hi,

I'm having the same problem with the same board. Except I have and i3 and the CPU fan stats - then stops before the lights start flashing. I figured it might be the ram, but also have concerns that the CPU isn't supported on this board. I just assumed that as its a LGA1156 socket it should work, am I wrong? Sorry if this is a bit like high-jacking :) Hope they are the same problem :D

To the OP, have you plugged in the 8 pin CPU connector from you PSU? Its the connerctor youve circled with 2.

To the guy above, you may need to flash your BIOS to wrok with an i3 before you can use that combo.

I had problems like this when building my rig, no speaker for the beeps.

Found my old case and nicked its two wire tweeter and its now installed in my antec.

Annoying move to not include a cheap tweeter on a case. Costs pennies -_-

I have the Asus P7P55D. And when I first built my PC mine also wouldn't boot. Turned out it was the RAM, Had to change slots.

I have no idea why it won't boot from the other DDR slots.

Thanks Meat Loaf, Turns out it was a faulty CPU fan stopping it booting. But think I might flash the BIOS anyway, good practice.

only flash the bios if you have to (new processor, fix bug etc.). believe me. see my sig? the streets power tripped right in the middle of a flash. the rest is explained below.

im currently on my 6-7 year old coal fired budget build until the new mobo arrives. not really a lot i can use it for atm :/
