Having some issues with this particular motherboard, got 90 odd of them and i want to see if there are any newer bios revisions.

If i go to Asus and go to this particular motherboard there are 3 bios revisions 0603 0602 and 0403. My motherboards are revision 0504.

If i attempt to use the 0603 or 0602 revisions it tells me they aren't valid EFI bios files, so where on earth do i get the bios updates for this motherboard from?!

(had to laugh at google chromes attempt to spell check "asus" with the word "anus" :p)

I would have thought with your user name you should be the one telling us how to do it ;)

I assume you're using the flash utility from within the BIOS?

If you download the 0603 file from the Asus site it will then need extracting.

Copy just the extracted 4MB BIOS file to a USB memory stick.

Start the PC with the memory stick inserted and go into the BIOS.

Use the flash utility in the BIOS and it should be able to read the file from the memory stick.

That's exactly what i did, step for step identical. The thing just tells me the file isn't an EFI bios file. It's bizarre, it's confusing me a bit that the bios revision on our boards isn't on the Asus website as well (tried global and UK)

100% certain i've got the right board and revision before you say it :p

Quite often they remove intermediate BIOS revisions and just leave the initial release and the latest or if there was a problem with a particular release it'll get removed.

Have you made sure it's formatted to FAT32?

Also try a different pen drive.

Yep, tried it ntfs and fat32 but neither worked, not tried a different pen drive though, doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with this one tbh

OK I've just checked pen drive one, it's FAT32....

Tried another pen drive which is also FAT32, that works! go back to the first one, reformat it without using "quick format" and it works. Obviously didn't like the pen drive being quick formatted for some reason.

Ah well problem solved lol
