ASUS P8P67 - BOOTMGR Missing with Agility 3 SSD - Advice Please

In June I bought the components for a new build from Overclockers for my dad who's an enthusiastic amateur photoshopper and avid watcher of TV on the computer.

No problem getting it up and running and everything was running well until I configured two 1TB drives to run in RAID 1. After this he kept getting lockups while using the PC. This recurring problem was eventually solved by making a change to the registry to turn off the Low Power State on the port that the Solid State Windows drive was connected to then no more lockups.

However, now the PC keeps forgetting that the Windows drive is present and occasionally issues a BOOTMGR missing or corrupted error. Fixing this error is a bit of a pain as the SSD is not visible in the BIOS on the reboot and the only thing that makes it visible again is if I open the case, unplug the SSD's SATA cable and replug the cable back into the MOBO. The SSD then appears in the BIOS and can be selected to be the first boot drive, after which the PC boots as normal, loads into Windows and runs fine for a while but issues the same BOOTMGR error a few days later.

Last night I updated the BIOS to the latest stable one from ASUS v1704, cleared the CMOS, and switched the SSD from the 6Gbps Intel SATA ports to a 6Gbps Marvel port in the hope that this may fix the problem (but I think I may have already tried the Marvel ports before).

I'm all out of ideas here and am a little frustrated with the ASUS P8P67 and Agility 3 combination. Fixing the low power state lockups took a couple of weeks head scratching and now I'm doing the same thing with this BOOTMGR problem. Has anyone else had this same problem? Is the cause with the SATA on the MOBO, a dodgy BIOS or with the Agility 3 SSD?

Your advice and suggestions are very welcome!

This is a known problem with the agility 3 and some boards, it's supposed to have been fixed with the latest firmware. Go to ocz website and follow the instructions on using ocz tool box to update the drive. There are also some other tips such as turning off hot swapping and such.
