Asus P8Z68-V LX memory config

Its been a while since I built a new PC (still using a Barton 2500+ OC!) so bear with me.

Anyway, Ive got a Thermaltake Frio alongside the above board and some Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz memory (2 * 4gb).

Space is a bit tight due to the cooler. Now, the manual suggests to install in 2 seperate banks of the same colour (i.e one dimm in each PALE blue slot).

What would be the difference if I installed both dimms in the same bank to give more room between the cooler and memory?

OK, I think I may have to put the memory tight alongside the fan of the cooler to allow it to run in dual channel mode. bah!

I have that board and I put the memory modules on the blue slots.

from cpu to the front of the case,it miss slot/install/miss slot/install

or like liverpool lad says the blue slots
