Hello,

So I currently have the Asus PB278Q monitor (previous to this one) and wish to wall mount it.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus PB278QR 27" Professional LED Multimedia Monitor - Black £429.95
Total : £439.55 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

What wall mounts are recommended / trust worthy as like most people I won't take to kindly if it falls to the floor.

I did see this one

Total : £20.96 (includes shipping : £4.98 Ex.VAT).

Or would something like this be better

YOUR BASKET
1 x InLine Wall Mount, Tilt / Swivel, 43-94cm (17-37 inches) £24.95
Total : £30.92 (includes shipping : £4.98 Ex.VAT).

Just a warning, I have a Asus PB278Q and have been looking for a mount with an arm to replace the one I have that doesnt have one and came across an issue with many mounts.

Most monitors like this have a square recess where the stand would attach to the back of the monitor and underneath that is where the 100x100 vesa holes are placed, trouble is many of these 100x100 VESA mounts have too much metal beyond the holes and so don't fit into that recess but might lay awkwardly on top of the edge of it barely, which I wouldn't feel comfortable attaching it like that even if it wasn't for the other issue where the bolts then might not be long enough, had this issue with a mount I had to send back. So all depends on what bolts you have or it comes with and how you feel about how it attaches like that. Personally I didn't feel it was safe for the monitor even if I did have longer bolts so I got a different one that does fit in the recess and so flat up against it, but OC don't have that one here.

The mount I have that just about fits is 10.3cm wide and high, but most stores don't give you that information unfortunately.

Hard to tell to be honest, it looks a little chunky at the edges, maybe give them a call and ask if they could check the full width and height, only two in stock though so might need to be quick.

This is the one I got (two of them), excuse the colour, it is actually black but digital camera's. Notice the shape and how close the holes are to the edge. I'm not saying you can't get away with some other shaped mounts but I've been bitten by this issue recently and so giving you a heads up.

Hey man, I messed up with the measurements in earlier post, I should have said 11.3cm not 10.3. Having a look again at the fit with my mount I'd say there is a few millimetres more space beyond it, so I'd say if it's no more than 11.6cm you should be fine for it to lay in the recess at the same level as the holes, but there is a slight lip of a few millimetres around that, I'd say that it would be safe if the mount laid on that and should still be fine with the bolts as it's only slightly higher, that would allow for up to 12cm width and height.

So again, 11.6cm to be level with the holes, 12cm max.

Have the same monitor and after much searching last year , settled for this due t the weight of the monitor. This is if you want an arm type not just a simple wall mount that is .

Shame OCUK dont stock them. I did look at the Allcam mounts but again, they dont take the weight either.

Warning. They ain't cheap....

Edit :

Here is what it looks like if it helps

I don't mind if its cheap or not as that looks like a quality product.

I'm actually looking at a desk mount as I am going to move the PC back to the corner desk so I have more room.

Its just finding a stand that fits.

Would it be possible to bridge the gap with washers or something?

Looking at these mounts

1 x Arctic Monitor Stand Z1 with USB-Hub - Black £49.99

I had to do this a few times with TVs & monitors wall mounts and it worked great..

I just looked and I used washers as spacers on both my wallmounted plasma TV's (50" & 43")
