Think you were unlucky and got a faulty one. My monitor is silent and has no noise. Which cable did you use?

Loving mine and its silent too so it must be a faulty unit.

Same as mr griffin - mine is top notch.
There's nothing more disappointing than a dodgy monitor - my DGM had a stuck pixel and it bugged me 24/7!
But cannot complain about the Asus, tried it on HDMI,DVI and DP and all work fine.

Thread hijack!

Have any of the Asus owners experienced the monitor not going to sleep when Windows stops the signal? Mine doesn't do it all the time, but it will sit there displaying the black screen. It really bugs me to come in after several hours and find out it's been on unnecessarily.

I experienced that yeah but I thought it was my computer cos I get the same problem on my Samsung monitor too.

Shot in the dark, but do you have Splashtop installed on your PC?

No, never heard of it.

The bug happens about 50% of the time. I've also seen the monitor go from sleep to switching on and displaying the blank screen. Very odd.

Ah right. Yeah mine would be about 50% of the time. Instead of actually going to sleep it will display black with cursor in the middle.

Splashtop is a remote access software, you use it on phones/tablets to access the PC.

I saw a thread one time that said this is one of the causes :/
