Hi, I am a newbe with limited tech experience. My small pc as above running Win XP 32bit. The FN key does not work and right button below the touch pad works intermittently. The full stop key, comma key, end and page down keys also don't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is it that you're trying to achieve? To get it running faster, to fix the keyboard, or both?

Speaking bluntly, the Eee PC was not especially powerful when released in 2008 (I know, I had one) and getting it running well now will be tricky. If I were you, I'd look at a very lightweight Linux distribution, possibly Lubuntu or Puppy Linux - post on the Linux forum and see what people say.

In terms of fixing the keyboard, they look pretty easily reparable - see https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Asus+Eee+PC+1000HA+Keyboard+Replacement/53470

I would question though whether it's worth the time and effort now though. You could find a refurbished or second hand laptop for £100, possibly a Lenovo ThinkPad, which would give you much, much more performance than the Eee.
