So the other week, I made post about a TP-Link WiFi card that was not entirely up to my standards on my network, since that point in time, I returned it and bought a new wifi card that was a little bit more expensive.
I went with the Asus PCE-AC56 which retails about £45.00. I received it yesterday and out of the box, it does seem to perform a lot better than the TP-Link counterpart, but there are still issues.
The main one being is that it doesn't automatically connect to the 5GHz band thus leaving me without my full speeds and connectivity, so I'm stuck on the 2.4GHz band with a speed (network speeds) of around 144Mbps, which isn't bad, but it's not entirely why I bought the card in the first place.
For a bit of clarification, my Router is downstairs in the living-room, my bedroom is up one fight of stairs, the living room is on the right hand side of the house and my bedroom is on the left hand side of the house, so there is not tons of wall of interference for the signal to get into my room.
Furthermore, when I downloaded the Asus Utility software, I noticed that the 2.4Ghz band was giving me 5/5 bars, but the 5Ghz band was only giving me 2-3 bars at best, when I tried to connect to the 5Ghz band, it would simply just fail, I did manage to get onto the 5Ghz band last night for a period of roughly 30 minutes, but this took a lot of adjusting of the antennas and while I was on the 5Ghz network, I had full speeds (75/18).
Is there anything I can do to rectify this issue? I would obviously rather be on the 5Ghz network as that is one of the main reason as to why I went out and bought this card in the first place, being on 2.4Ghz the speeds fluctuate quite often ranging from 40Mbps - 60Mbps, which isn't bad, but it's not full speeds.
Finally, there are no drivers available for this card other than the Windows 8.1 drivers, when you look for Windows 10 drivers, you are greeted with the following message:
And while this is partially true, the driver available within Windows 10 is 2 years out of date.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, sorry about the wall of text.

This client card supports windows 10 plug and play. Do not need driver CD,
driver is included in Windows 10.
When the client card is inserted into a computer, Windows attempts to
download and install the client card driver if it is not already available on the
computer.
