Hi,

just got my new monitor and it's fine apart from it will not display anything until it hits the windows screen. Obviously this is no good as I am unable to get to the bios and it only has a DP connection.

Anyone have any ideas?

Previous monitor was no problem and I am using the same 1.2 DP cable.

Sounds like BIOS outputting resolution that PG278Q can't display. Sadly sometimes happens with some "modern" monitors due to lack of full hardware scaler (they can only display native res and rely on GPU to rescale).

Could be the issue but how am I supposed to get into the bios as I do on frequent occasions. My BENQ XL2020G and ACER Z35 had no problems.

when you switch your PC on if you keep pressing the key you use to enter the bios (Del?) does the bios screen actually appear ?
Could be just the post screen its not showing.

Some motherboard manufacturers, eg Gigabyte have a util that you can use in Windows which reboots you into the BIOS.
