So from my understanding Warranty: 3yr is On-Site with Asus ,Means to your door ie "On-Site" RIGHT! well this is our on site as been for me for many years not just with asus but other monitor company's ,They Swap them out at the door .

So here's my story so far with ASUS ,for the last two months my monitor as been turning its self on and staying in standby mode when PC power is totally off ..

I've done some searching online to see if others have been having this problem and turns out there are allot of people out there with this problem ,Hmmm so some thing is breaking down inside the monitor and needs sorting .

Any way to cut a long story short ,I get in touch with Asus on the 11th of 12/15 by phone ,yes XMAS is closing in by this time .They give me RMA number and tel me to wait for a reply from them ,

But did received an email on Mon 14/12/2015

Dear Customer, Please be informed that your request for service of PG278Q from 2015-12-11 21:10:34.000 with serial number EXXXXXXXXXX9 has been accepted. Your RMA number is GXXXXXXXX8 We will inform you by e-mail when a replacement product is shipped out from our warehouse. You will then receive your replacement accessory from the carrier and ask you to throw away the defective product in an environmental friendly manner. Kind regards,

But now its 11/1/16 and not had one more email from them ,This kinder suxs why are asus so slow ,

My nephew as the same monitor but had very bad flickering problem and they switched his one at the door with in three days gave him a brand new one ,All there telling me when i call is there waiting for parts to come in from twain,Then i said to the guy there is noway in hell that you will be taking the monitor to be fixed because of there bad rep with scratching the monitors that other people have reported online after repairs , There is noway that i will let them take this monitor for fixing when its still under ( 3yr On-Site ) Not ( 3yr at asus ),

I find this kinder funny that they do not have any in UK that's kind of hard to believe .

Now i am starting to grow in inpatient .

Well, by not letting them service it, you will just be left with a faulty product.

"On site" is a varied meaning.

You have assumed it means "repair onsite".

There is noway that i will let them take this monitor for fixing

Erm...

Why would they tell you to throw a part in the bin if they are going to take it away?

I have the same monitor. I had the issue where the monitor would turn itself on by itself. It eventually would not power up unless unplugged and plugged back in.

Known issue with the power brick. I raised an RMA requesting a new power brick. Took them a while but it arrived yesterday. New power brick fixed the issue.

I reported the issue before Christmas (start of December) and it took till now for it to be replaced. Apparently they were waiting for a UK power cord. Told them I would use my current one. Once I had advised of that they sent the adapter next day.

My guess is you just need a new adapter. Not to send the monitor back.
