been looking at the asus pg279 monitor range but there is so many different versions, pg279q/pg279qe/pg279qr/pg279qz. anyone know the difference between these and which one is the better to get. cheers :)

Welcome aboard.

In short differences are...
PG279Q: Heavily brand overpriced old sRGB gamut, Nvidia tax ball and chain for your ankle, so that you get to pay NVidia's overprices for getting to use variable refresh rate.

PG279QE: Chapter two of the same.

PG279QR: Rinse and repeat.

PG279QZ: Ad nauseam.

Just for comparison even £350 price level Acers have wider colour gamut. (capable to more purer colours)

Plenty of more wider gamut monitors

Response times wise LG 27GL850 would be the top IPS at the moment.

Along with same panel using Lenovo Y27Q-20.

Though if you prefer dark/dimly lighted room, then all IPS monitors are handicapped for that.
