Hi All,

Just wondering if this monitor is worth getting now, I currently roll 2 of the U2515H Dell's obviously not really a high HZ monitor but IPS and look pretty nice, somebody is taking one of these off my hands for £200 which is fair as hes a good friend..

So im wondering whether its worth upgrading to this monitor what do you guys think? I know the jist with all of the panel lottery but im prepared to go through a few send backs if needs be.. more wondering if its worth buying it now as I can acquire one from a certain place for around the £680-700 mark, I tried to get ocuk to price match but they won't so that idea's out the window.

Im currently rolling the PC in my sig so hoping it will cope with maybe 144hz or so maybe? not sure to be fair I'm not massively sure on all the latest tech, I play CS:GO, PUBG and the occasional MMORPG :)

Please give me some advice guys! :)

I made the same move around a month or two ago. Went from a Crossover Blacktune 1440p Korean to a PG279Q. Unfortunately got a dud, had a few blotches on it and backlight bleed made the corners yellow.

Sent it back for refund, got two XB271HUs (same panel as the ASUS) and an XB271HK instead. Best decision ever. Haven't set them up yet, but all panels are good so going to run them in triple monitor setup. The Acers seemed to have much better QC than the ASUS, but if you get a good ASUS I'm sure they're fantastic.

I run mine with a single GTX980ti, which will likely struggle with the 4K HK model, although at 1440p it chews up most games, even at 100Hz+. I turn off AA in a lot of competitive games (Siege, PUBG).

Can't see any serious advancements coming in the market any time soon, although I'd feel a bit shredded paying £700 for the ASUS or Acer. I got both of mine for £800 all in.

Damn man thats a pretty good price you got htose things for, I mean I'm paying £700 but technically one of my old U2515H's is getting traded in with it, as a mates paying me £200 for it, and considering I basically got that monitor for like £150 ish at the time with all discounts and everything else applied, its basically 200 off whichever monitor I gets price! im thinking I'll take the risk with the pg279q atm and if I get a dud I'll shop elsewhere after a refund sound like a good plan?

and ahh so your 980ti doesn't struggle at 100hz+ with the monitor? have you bothered with g sync? is it noticeable or is it more of a gimmick?

Yeah for sure, very lucky! That's fair enough then, little bit of trade in cash always helps out. Yeah, go for it. If you get a goodun they're absolutely gorgeous. Same panel as mine so I can say with confidence you'll love it.

I mean, depending on settings it can show its age. Not going to tell you it's a consistent 100Hz+, because sure, in action packed scenes I'll see drops to 70-80fps. GSync really impressed me, surprisingly. It's really good, once I'm above 80fps I stop losing track of frame drops etc. Only game I can feel the difference in is Overwatch.

Cool man thanks for your input its much appreciated, I'll get onto searching for a decent price! :)
