Hi all,

My trusty Asus is still working, but I noticed some bleed all aroudn the edges this morning whilst booting up. I am not sure if that is a sign of near death, but I got this is September 2016 from OCUK, so it's done me well (as I'd hoped for a £1k screen!).

I don't think I want to/can go bigger because of where it is in my house.

I've been so long out of looking, not sure what to replace it with. I have an Asus 4080 gfx card.

Thanks,

James

How I wanted one of those first gen Gsync overclockable Ultrawides :D Had to settle for a 60 Hz no-sync one at the time.

34" 3440X1440 ultrawides are a lot more common now (and cheaper). You say you don't want to go bigger - what features would you want in a new (presumably 34" UW) screen?

You can get something similar that's an IPS panel again and with 120-144 Hz native for a few hundred quid now I believe. You'd almost certainly have to make do with 'Gsync Compatible' rather than having a full Gsync module like in your Asus.

At the other end of the scale there's OLED UWs, or bigger + higher res ultrawides, or ultra high refresh rate ultrawides (in VA or IPS I think).

Yeh I got a mini inheritance so blew 1/3 of it on that!

I don't think I can really go bigger, I have my office in the loft and it sits under a window/dormer (well slightly over).

Feature wise, I'd like to go 4k if I was going to spend the money and interesting on the gsync compatible - would save a few £££ for sure!
