I've just purchased an Asus ProArt PA278QV 27" Monitor. I'm using the sRGB profile in Windows 10 and have set the Asus to the sRGB profile also.
I am not by any means a professional retoucher but I do work with quite a lot of grayscale images. On my previous and rather old Samsung monitor grayscale images were just that on the ProArt they have a slight tinge to them. The ProArt is supposed to be calibrated out of the box but does it need further calibration using hardware? I'm confused.
