I have just recently built an Asus R3E from OcUk with an air cooled 980x and 12GB of Corsair 2000 sticks.
I am finding that the North and South Bridge temp are very high. On start up the IOH is 68c and the ICH is 54c, which go up to around 75c. After reading articles in the Asus forum, I found a similar instance which suggested replacing the thermal paste and as preliminary to push on the heat sink and notice the temperature change. I followed the suggestion of checking temperature changes by pressing on the heat sink and low and behold the temperature immediately started to drop. Has anybody else found this problem and is it worth returning the board or should I just refit the heat sink? Suggestions welcomed, also from OcUk.
