asus rampage 4 extreme pwm issue

today i fitted a pwm ek d5 pump and what a pain it has been.

when connected to my mobo cpu 1 or cpu opt headers it will not even power the pump up regardless of my fan control settings in bios.

if i connect to chassis fan 1 header it runs the pump at full speed only.

any suggestions?
