Asus Realbench 2.0

Is this a stress test or mainly a stability test ?

TBH I now rank this higher than Cinebench and LinX for testing my CPU. I could not get it through at my regular stable 5ghz so I had to really tweak the bugger hard. In the end I settled for 4.93ghz by pumping the bus, but managed it at 1.46v so my temps just about scraped through. The multi tasking test really hammers the absolute bejesus out of your rig !

Any way, my clocks verified.

And my very respectable score for a £109 CPU.

Noting the Encoding and Heavy Multitasking results.

Quick note on the first test (GIMP). It's pretty poor tbh. IMO Asus should have used Cinebench because GIMP uses a CPU very badly. I've seen the same score from a 5ghz 3570k as a 4930k at the same clocks (around 130k). Take a look at this...

That's about all you'll see from it. Lame use of four cores, residual fifth and sixth core and nothing at all on cores 7 an 8. Shame.

Maybe it's because GIMP is a real world application and Cinebench is just a bench :P

I'll run mine now.

Edit:

Oh, such bad scores. Shouldn't run this with browser and tons of stuff open.

System score: 60449.

The encoding benchmark is similar to Handbrake, which is very much a real world application. There's no excuse, given that certain levels of Crysis 3 can easily max out my CPU.

As for your score? sounds good to me. Not sure what you were expecting out of a 4670k?

Do you have to run all tests for the final score guys? Got a feeling that the heavy multitasking one could lead to severe throttling due to temps on my cpu.

That test turns your PC into Satan's ballsack. Seriously, it's evil.

I'd have thought the haswell's would have blitzed this benchmark

Personally I feel that GIMP is holding back the overall score of a CPU. However, the others (apart from OCL which is more graphics based) seem to use a system properly, ending with results very similar to Cinebench. IE - more cores are crucial, as is clock speed.

It's becoming clearer by the week just how capable AMD's FX CPUs are when used properly. I just hope that this year sees more games using them properly too :)

Need some i5's in there! ;)

From the results I've seen you won't see many. Asus really do care about the FX 8. The whole benchmark was built up to be pretty fair to all CPUs, and the lack of cores on the I5 really shows..

Cheers for updating the list Wazza :)
