Asus remote not functioning properly on Vista

Not sure if this is the right section, but...

Have an Asus P5W DH mobo. Vista is working great, althought he remote control that comes with the motherboard is having issues. For one, the volume control doesn't work which is a bit annoying! Secondly, it works in some programs but not in others, e.g. in Windows Media Player, but not winamp.

Anyone having these problems and know how to solve it? Thanks!

i have the same board as you but alas am not using that remote im using a mce remote instead a lot better

How I'm unsure to fix your problem, i know winamp has some problems with vista alltogether, also doesnt winamp need a plugin for media buttons to work, i needed a plugin to get my media keyboard to work in winamp, perhaps you need same for remote.
Or if its winamp, you'd need to wait for a new vista ready&tested version...

made me laugh.....can't get mine to plat ball either, some functions work, some don't....that said, I tend to only use it to power the PC on rather than reach for the switch (behind door on P180 !) .....but am interested in getting it working - I always get the setup window opening on every boot with the latest drivers from the ASUS website !

well guys you were right and i appologise, i have been scouting around forums ect, while i can see problems involving the actual remote not working, but i cant see any posts sugestions to its working but not quite working, ie volume ect, but i will continue to look.

Thanks for the help so far guys. Believe me, I've googled it to death and can't find anything!

Just to clarify, the volume button on the remote doesn't work entirely. They just don't do anything, be it in winamp, wmp, anything!
