Hi there i recently bought a Asus 470 off theses fourms which it has defective RAM and it crashing and artifacting, It was bought from the ocuk store in september which i have the original invoice from OCUK

i was wondering who do i send it back to OCUK or ASUS i have the feeling it will be ASUS as they have a 3 year warrenty heres my worry

the last ASUS RMA i done did not got very well it was Striker 2 mobo and it took them 2 and half months to solve it and send it me back and i would not like the same experiance again and was wondering what would be the best way to go about it as i dont fany waiting 2 months again to use hardware i've bought to use over christmas with NV surround :(

As it's within the first year of you purchasing the item, get in touch with OCUK, they should be able to sort out the RMA for you. Leave them a webnote or give them a quick ring at some point ;)

Can you clarify if you bought the card new from the shop, or was it from mm? If from the shop, the first year of warranty will be through ocuk. If you bought it on mm, the warranty will be with the original owner. Bit of a grey area this one im afraid.

i bought it off MM but was originaly bought from the shop personally i would rather deal with OCUK as the last RMA with them only took a couple of days was really impressed unlike the ASUS rma i went through so i was wondering what to do? shall i ring the shop as i have a copy of the original invoice ? perfer to get things done over the phone :)

You may have to contact the person whom you bought the card from, as i doubt if warranties are transferrable.

Just so you know,

I had a GTX 460 1GB that I bought in september off of OcUK. I had defective VRAM like yourself.

I sent it back to OcUK and it took 4 weeks to get it back. Not OcUK's fault. Asus are just the slowest people on earth. Just so you know :P

I think you will find a lot of companys are like that, ive had same problem before with a GFX card and it took sapphire 5 weeks to say they couldnt fix it.

oh well i've got intouch with the seller off MM and he's gonna sort an RMA out for it sounds dead helpfully so thats a bonus and he said the same thing ill probably have to wait about 4 weeks so looks like NV surround will have to wait :( but these things happen
