Hey guys, anyone had experience with ASUS RMA? It's a joke, i bought a strix 1060 from a local business ( which has since shut down, Asus advised me to go back to point of purchase, was advised to wait for an email, which told me the same, have advised them it's not possible due to business going bust.

any reps on here? Spent over £3k on Asus kit in the last 5 years, last penny if this is their level of service.

word of advice always buy from OCUK!!

OK i just came across this through google search as my 980 strix has just died. According to Asus brief email it's the retailer who deals with the warranty! Guess what the retailer says its the manufacturer after the first year and to contact Asus again. Also be warned the 48hr response they claim is not even close it took 6 days to get that email from them, so am expecting another week for the next reply.

Asus customer service is generally regarded as being absolutely appalling. For my own anecdotal evidence, the one time I had a faulty Asus card (a 280X), they fobbed me off when I contacted them by saying that the serial number wasn't valid as the card was allegedly meant to be sold in Germany (despite the fact that I bought it from a certain tax-dodging UK retailer). They wanted absolutely nothing to do with it and refused to do anything. Ended up selling it as faulty on Ebay and haven't touched their products since.

I've also had issues with Asus with my 970 strix.

My product was still under warranty and I was expecting a straight forward RMA. But my god was I wrong. I still got a replacement in the end but the time it wasted was a joke!

I'd never buy from them again.

Can i ask how you got it sorted as atm its manufacturer and retailer passing the buck claiming it's the others responsibility.

As your product is still under warranty you are obliged for a replacement.

But as your original retailer went bust how do they they expect you to contact them?

Whoever you're talking to is probably untrained and can't be bothered to help. Get in contact with managers, you have a product under warranty and they shouldn't be arguing with that.

Try and get a phone number, you can put more pressure on them during a phone call. By sending emails, untrained staff can easily reply with some crappy service.

First of all, don't be rude to begin with. Explain the situation and if they refuse you then you need to defend your case :)

My experiences with Asus RMA have been appalling - lots of delays and quite happy to replace a pristine brand new (even premium line) product with a ropey RMA replacement that has probably been doing the rounds and rejected/returned a few times already :s

I never buy Asus any more.

omg, i came here looking for hope, but found darth vader, okay so i've done the following -

Email the joker CEO jerry
posted on their twitter
message em on FB

if need be i'll be taking em to a small claims court lmao ( no joke ) for the principle of it.

I only buy Asus motherboards but I may avoid them in future due to the horror stories like this thread seems to be an extension of. However, I'm sure I read that OCuK have committed to dealing with all Asus warranty direct? Could anyone confirm that?

Do *not* buy Asus, they remain appalling (unless you can do the RMA through OcUK which I think you still can if bought from them). Kinda think I want to replace my Asus monitor asap now!

Ouch, sounds painful. Thankfully I have only ever had to deal with there special team for sever products which my ASUS X99 EWS fell under. Absolutely spectacular service there. Dispatched replacement board to me within 24 hours of raising issue, board arrived next day delivery from Eastern Europe aswell and they picked up my old board when I was happy new board was working fine from my place. Best RMA experience I have ever had, twice, even compared to EVGA. Reading there service on normal products however!!!

I believe that is the case: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/asus-turbo-3yr-rma-service-ocuk-customers-only.18716349/

That should be their consumer standard too tbf, shame on them!

But as long as people keep buying at their inflated prices with disregard then they can't really be blamed. Only when companies like this are hit in the bottom-line do things have a change of changing.

I've had an ok experience personally multiple times, but only on the LCD side. Swap and drop, which although good service, isn't asking much.

ASUS returns is based on region, and in the UK it's regarded as pretty much god awful resoundingly as this thread shows.

God help us, what about. The warranty might aswell be lifetime because they don't honour it. NEVER BUY ASUS

Yea...Asus certainly make some of the best hardware, but you purchase them in the hope of that nothing ever bad happen, or you are pretty much on your own (thankfully my Asus laptop and motherboard still have no problem to date lol).

Refused myself an RMA on a motherboard due to a missing backplate a few years ago.

Service is an absolute joke. Suffice to say I will never buy anything from them again.
