The first unit I got was DOA with a faulty screen.

Had this replaced in a speedy fashion from OcUK

Now the one I have now is giving me problems when I use a usb 3.0 stick in either of the 2 left hand ports.

I have purchased a Kingston, corsair and sandisk and they all drop out when transferring large file data across to them.

Using the right hand ports is all fine???

Think this one needs to go back now....

It's an issue they all have. My G751 did the same as does my G551. If you use a USB 2 stick it will work fine. There has been no fix as far as I'm aware other than using the right ports...

This issue is well covered on the official forums. Read them. https://rog.asus.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?198-G751-G771-G551-and-GL552-Gaming-Notebooks

Pretty bad then on Asus part, selling a laptop with 4x usb 3.0 but you can't use them on the left side with usb3 devices.

Going for a rma, this is not worth £1200 with faulty parts.

Think it's a mobo and BIOS issue, so an RMA likely won't do anything. Let us know how you get on though!

Barring the niggling issues I still find this laptop amazing value considering I paid £1250 for the 980M version. It's quiet, cool, and gaming performance is fantastic and should easily last me a few years. The only thing I would really want to improve is the CPU speed, but sadly it isn't upgradeable.
