I am torn between the two laptops and they each has their pro's and con's. Should I wait for 8th Gen CPU? Although I am not that bothered about CPU that much. Specs for both machines are:

ASUS ROG GL502VS:
Intel i7 7700hq 2.8Ghz
16GB RAM 2400Mhz
128GB SSD M.2 Sata
1000TB 5400RPM HDD
GTX 1070 8GB
2.3KG
£1600 - £1800

Aorus X5V7:
Intel i7 7820HK 2.9Ghz
16GB RAM 2400Mhz
256GB SSD M.2 PCiE
1000TB 7200RPM HDD
GTX 1070 8GB
2.5KG
£2000 - £2400

Reasons for ASUS:
-Slightly lighter than the Aorus
-Cheaper than the Aorus
-Has a 120hz Screen
Reasons against the ASUS
-Plastic Build
-Very thick power brick
-Horrible colours
-Awful stock storage configurations
-No thunderbolt
-No RGB Keyboard (I dont really care but RED LED's are horrible)

Reasons for Aorus
-Metal construction
-Good stock storage configurations
-RGB keyboard (Not that I care very much)
-4K display
-Slimmer power brick
-Better CPU
-Thunderbolt
-Black not too gamer looking (At least to me it doesn't)
Reasons Against the Aorus:
-Expensive
-Q&C is a gamble
-Slightly on the large side for a 15inch
-Killer Wifi
-Trackpad and the weird Eagle thing on it

Hope I didnt miss anything out. Any Inputs from owners of not just the specified laptops but the brand would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Joe

A few extra pro's for the AORUS;

  • The I7-7820HK is overclockable therefore more performance.
  • AORUS routinely have the best performing GTX 1070's in notebooks (see NBR comparisons).
Combine these two factors are you are not only kicking the Asus to the kerb but also machines like the Razer Blade Pro with GTX 1080, in the performance stakes.

  • AORUS UK customer support is outstanding.
Points at @Atom80.

I am leaning more towards Aorus but I had 3 faulty X3's and am a little worried about spending even more on a X5 but that aside everything else looks promising.
