Update the motherboard BIOS to the latest version for better compatibility

The OC Station connects to the ROG series motherboards that ASUS make and provides full hardware based overclocking changing the BIOS settings in real time meaning that it isn't an interface extension for some software running on the Operating system

The ROG OC Station is a device that features controls for system overclocking or viewing system infomation on the fly, along with various temperature, voltage, fan speed control, monitoring added to the mix.

As a fan controller, the OC station provides output to four separate fans also it features system information and even a photo slideshow function.

The three Controls buttons take care along with a rotary switch, while a TFT-LCD screen keeps the user posted about clock-speeds, voltages, fan-speeds and temperatures, which might help when the system's display is busy running 3D benchmarks or games.

The device can be used on the desk, where it's front panel can tilt upwards to a 30° angle which makes things much easier for better user viewing also it can be fitted virtually to any PC case, where it occupies two 5.25-inch drive bays making overclocking easy for all user's.

Conclusion.
Let's face it most overclocking gadgets are more often a load of rubbish and don't work well if at all, However with the Asus OC station everything works straight out of the box giving you all the settings you could possible want to change or tweak on a hardware level.

No longer does the user have to be a god to overclock there system, overclocking is made simple with this device for the masses to use in most environments, saving profiles and changing settings on the fly could not be more simpler now that the ASUS OC station is hear, it does it all with a few pushes on the buttons and a twist of the toggle wheel.

many thanks (again) sacha35! :)

I read this review a few days ago and I was wondering can I duplicate most features of the ASUS ROG OC Station by using a laptop instead? or does the ROG OC Station offer some features a laptop can't?

Yes ROG connect on the Maximums III will let you do everything that the OC station will, the only things that are missing are that the OC station gives you four fan controllers and also the display that lets you see pictures ECT, but as for overclocking then there is everything you need in ROG connect, but as you know this is only available on the ASUS Maximums III formula at the moment.

SWEET, over 5GHz, what cooling? and what temps? out of interest
Also as well as higher clock it uses lower voltage

Just to confirm, not that Im actually going to go out n buy one, it says the RoG range, then only lists the latest 3, do you happen to know if it supports earlier models? for example the rampage formula in my sig???

The Oc station will support all ROG motherboards as and when Bios and firmware updates are available.

As you will see by the speed the overclocking was done with extreme cooling around -98c in both cases, what the OC station offered me was to be able to fine tune voltages and Bclock without restating and resetting bios settings which made life much more easier for me as this could all be done within the operating system, because the Oc-station has a direct link to the bios and not software there is no polling going on within the Operating system, just direct settings/Changes made to the bios.

As you all know I got this sample for review but having used it I would without doubt now go and buy one as it made life so much easier when overclocking and being able to push the Maximus III that bit further than just using the bios or software for overclocking.

It certainly looks interesting, but the price and the fact that you can accomplish almost everything it does using a laptop limits its appeal :/

Only if you have the Maximus III as this is the only motherboard at the moment that has the ROG connect overclocking tool, so for all other ROG motherboards this OC station is a must have as it is easy to see what can be had in the way of tweaking and overclocking from the screen shots I have listed.

New files for OC station.

Please uninstall any OC station software and reboot and then install this software and reboot.
1.03.08.rar

Once booted into windows update Firmware with this file.

Please make sure you have the Latest bios for your ROG Motherboard installed and boot with default motherboard settings before updating the OCstation.
