ASUS ROG PG27UQ - fan noise

Okay so, I've owned this monitor for the best part of 2 years now. It's fantastic, exactly what was promised. But, whilst the fan for it was a touch on the loud side, it was never enough to complain about. Recently however, its just so loud, to the point the loudest part of my setup is my monitor...

Any simple fixes out there? or is it a case of contact asus support. Because its genuinely annoying that a monitor this expensive has such a loud high pitch fan, its so inconsistent too, will be loud, then suddenly spike and get even louder to the point I can still hear it with my headphones on.

Reading through some threads on the problem (not sure if you've already checked), it seems that this is a common issue and can only really be sorted by sending it back, unless you want to try and open and fix it yourself which would void the warranty.

Ive read a few things here and there. But was hoping I wouldn't have to send it back as that's a lot of risk and hassle, don't have the original packaging as its been 2 years since I bought it. Very frustrating as I use the screen for work and games.

Also, highly doubt I'd be able to get a refund to buy a different display, but im skeptical about an RMA because ive heard people still having the same issue

Try resetting the monitor via the toggle back right . Or , turn down reference white ( nits ) . I did the former , which affected the latter , which reduced my fan speed to a sort of acceptable level .
