ASUS ROG SLI BRIDGE

Hi guys, hope this is in the right section as its related to graphics cards.

I am really interested un purchasing the Asus ROG sli bridge. I own the Palit 980TI's which don't light up on the top, will i have to use this bridge with the supplied power cable or will it light up automatically without the cable? (really don't want to use that cable)

In my GeForce Experience it says its ready for LED Visualizer but just wanted to double check as my cards don't light up from the top

It should light up using power from the sli fingers, I think the cable is for older models that don't support it
