Its been years since I bought a psu.

Im wondering if Asus rog Strix 1200w platinum 80 plus platinum suitable for the 5090.

Also what are the cables like that come with it? Ive always had custom built cables for my builds in the past.

I've got that psu with asus Astral 5090 oc, reason I bought it was atx 3.1 dedicated video card power cable for the 5000 series and has built in power smoothing for said card, I've got a set of cablemod cables from my old asus rog thor 2 1200watt but I'm sticking with the stock ones.

youve probably got Thor 2 or Thor 3

Thor 1 doesnt have a dedicated GPU connectors, the 12VHPWR is for the 4090 and the 5090 is 12V2X6 connector

Thor 1 only has the x8 pin connector so you would use the GPU adaptors to connect to the newer GPU's

It's the thor 2 I used a cablemod cable with 4x pcie connecters.
