Hey folks, just looking for ideas.

I've built my first custom loop, and thinking that the hard part was over, when I power up the motherboard, everything spins, etc, but I get a yellow DRAM QLED, with the code "0d" - which seems to mean nothing. Absolutely zero output on the monitor. I've tried moving and reseating the RAM, checked power connections, etc, etc. Any ideas?

I've got a Zotac Trinity 3090 installed, but i've tried disconnecting it from the motherboard and using the HDMI connection on the MB. nothing.

I'm dreading pulling this apart to troubleshoot, or send parts back for RMA... but I'm not 100% sure whats at fault here, Motherboard or DRAM. Anything obvious I'm missing here?

You can't use the motherboard hdmi connector as the cpu hasn't got an integrated gpu. Have you got the latest bios on it, reset the cmos and tried just one stick of ram. You are not the only one to have trouble like this.

I agree, update BIOS using Flashback procedure, double check ram is fully seated after if it still does not boot, also boot from dedicated video card ie in PCI-Express slot.

I also read you should use first M2 one for booting when installing NVMe drive stick.

Hey, the BIOS Flashback did the trick. I’m able to get into BIOS no issues.

Now the problem is when I try to install Windows, it loads in and after 5-10 secs I just get corruption all over the screen. Tried safe mode, lower resolution, all busted. In UEFI BIOS no problem. Temps are perfect. The GFX worked in my other PC...

I can’t effect any difference. I don’t think the GFX card is overheating, and if I reboot it immediately is fine, but for 10 secs into the restart and then it’s off again. Never seen this before.

Have you looped the gpu? If you have is the back plate over tightened warping the board, do you have it seated properly and power leads in place(individual not daisy changed off of another)? Same goes for the cpu and ram.

Did you install latest version of Windows 10?.... I hear older versions of 10 can have issues.

Btw did you load defaults in Bios and save and exit?

I did loop the GPU. EK waterblock and backplate. I’m using the LianLi riser kit too. I checked the bios settings for the PCIe slot down to Gen 3 (just in case). I had Strimer Plus cabling, tried replacing that, no difference.

so frustrating, it’s the exact same point in install of windows that’s the screen distortion kicks in - if I use safe mode, it works fine until I get stuck in a region loop - OOBEREGION MS error.

I’ve tried taking the backplate screws out a half turn - exact same thing every time.

This is looking like a drain and strip the graphics card down and rebuild. Merry Christmas indeed!
