bought a rog thor 2 weeks ago

have not had time to add to my current build, out of interest just because i wanted to see the RGB and the side panel display I plugged in the 3 pin PSU cable to the unit and plugged it in and switched on the power.

I expected the PSU to switch on, led lights and side display but nothing happens, no power

Do you have to connect everthing to the PSU to switch on, re the 24 pin mobo connector and gpu ect?

atleast the lights should have come on right?

Many psu's need something drawing a load before starting up and most psu's have zero rpm fan modes these days so the fan only starts at a certain load or temp.

You need to short the power on pins in the 24 pin cable. With just the kettle lead plugged in it'll behave as any psu would in a computer that is off.

This is the problem.

When getting power (with rear switch in on position) PSU has only 5V standby running, until given PS ON signal by motherboard.
