Asus router looses internet every 7 days

Recently bought an Asus AC88U, it's fine for 7 days then looses internet connection every 1/2 hours after that constantly and will only come back up with a reboot.
If I factory reset the router it'll work fine for another 7 days then start playing up again.
Used along side with a VM Superhub2 (rebooting this has no effect).

Before I send this back any ideas?

Can you install Merlin firmware or an equivalent 3rd party solution ? I had a similar but different issue with my Asus AC68U in that when I would use flashget or any download manager it would hit top speed then completely drop, have to re-establish connection build up speed again and drop off / reconnect a couple more times. I installed Merlin and never happened.

Is the SH in bridge mode as a modem only ?

Is the unit set to renew it's leases after that time?

Have you had a look at the settings?

You can open a browser and type in 192.168.1.1 and you should get a log in page.

I think Asus is 192.168.1.1 anyway.

Yes SH is in Modem only mode, I think it is lease time related, it's changed to another 7 days again now, yesterday when I was having trouble it showed an hour before it expired. Why doesn't it auto renew?

Have you checked it's not a dhcp leases renewing issue?

I have the exact same router had few minor issues with it when working with superhub ,but it all sorted now
log in to the asus router
go to lan tab
check dhcp release time should be set 86400
