Hey all just after a little help im currently looking to replace a TP link router its not dual band so looking to replace it for a dual band ive been looking at this router

Asus N66U

Anybody have this router

You would want to remove that link, competitor links aren't allowed.

N66U is a great router, but which ISP are you with, and is it ADSL, VDSL or cable?
 
it Works with my ISP someone on the same network has it and says its a good router. But wanted to get other reviews on this forum to how good it is
 
I've not used that particular router, I have the RT68U but Asus routers in general are very good. Mine has been rock solid since I got it which must be over a year ago now.

Also I find they support their routers with some good firmware updates. AiProtection is particularly good as it gives your network a little extra protection against malware and the N66U also seems to support this feature.

They may be with the same ISP but it doesn't mean they're on the same package type. The RT-N66U is purely a router only so if you have ADSL, you'll need an ADSL modem, and if you have VDSL (fibre, FTTC, etc), you'll need a VDSL modem. If you're with Virgin, then you just stick their superhub in modem mode.
