Anyone else had any issues accessing the 192.168.1.1 GUI?

Mine loads then doesn't load and sometimes just hangs.

running Win 8.1 64bit

If you are running ESET security or Nod32 you will run into problems unless you add the router IP address under the protocol filtering exclusions

You'll be fixed as soon as you add the exclusion. Took me a good while to figure that out when I bought mine.

Excellent router though, so I'm sure you'll be happy with it once you have full access to the GUI without it timing out

Much love buddy! have a great weekend!!!

Glad you are all sorted :-)

I'd recommend Merlin's firmwares and smallnetbuilder's forums for more detailed discussion of this hardware

Old thread bump, but worth noting that there is a new GUI refresh in the latest firmware, only found out when I logged into it today and updated.

Looks nice and has more info!

Added Cloudcheck router software agent. Cloudcheck agent enables intelligent wifi diagnostics that provides complete visibility into home network performance and offers actionable recommendations for improvements.

To use this new functionality,
1) Download Cloudcheck app from Apple or Google App stores,
2) Make sure ASUS router is connected to Internet,
3) Launch the Cloudcheck app, go to “Smartifi” option in the main menu.
The app will automatically detect the router and activate the service after getting your consent

The updated Asus App for Android is also very nice too, nice swish interface, very "Ghost in the Shell" style animations on the front page.

That does look great! I need to replace my Router sometime soon.

What VPN servers are baked into the Asus router firmware these days? Last time I check it was just PPTP but thats far from ideal. Can you run servers for OpenVPN/ L2TP / IPSec?
