I'm on Virgin broadband and get about 120Mb max. When i connect my PC to the Superhub via Ethernet cable i get the full 120Mb, if i connect to my RT-N13U router via Ethernet cable i get about 100Mb. Other devices in the house connect wirelessly to the RT-N13U and get the full 120Mb so i'm just wondering why its slower when wired, especially since the Superhub doesn't suffer the same problem.

Thanks

Just looking at the spec sheet, that router only has 10/100 Mbps network ports built into it

So chances are that'll be your problem

You'll need to find a router with Gigabit ports to make the most of the connection

I see, thankyou. Would it make more sense/be cheaper to buy a wifi dongle for my PC and do away with having a wired connect altogether?

Both the WAN and LAN ports of the RT-N13U are 100Mbps. This means that there's zero chance that you're connecting to the RT-N13U wirelessly and getting more than 100Mbps.

Irrespective of how fast the wireless is you're going to be limited by the 100Mbps WAN port that connects it to the Super Hub. Anything that has to go via the WAN port will be capped at 100Mbps.

Ah i see, i guess i'll just have to put up with slower speeds then as i cant abide virgin superhub.
