Asus sabertooth z77 memory issue

i am about to upgrade my system to a Ryzen 3900X and asus ROG hero viii motherboard. The issue e with my current system is it refuses to run dual channel memory.

I have an I7 3770k in the sabertooth and have tried a pair of Gail black dragon ddr3 2133mhz and currently Kingston hyper x ddr3. If I place the DIMMs in either dual channel configuration ie. a0 and b0 or a1 and b1 the board refuses to post and then restarts. I have tried both sticks alone in all fur slots and the system wil boot normally. Likewise if I use slots a0 and a1 or b0 and b1 the system will boot but in single channel mode.

Anyone have any idea what could potentially be causing this as I will be looking to sell the parts on and don’t want any potential buyer having any issues if possible.
 
Have you tried updating the motherboard to the latest bios (version 2104)? There have been several stability fixes since launch so it is worthwhile if you are on a older bios. Your board has usb flashback so flashing couldn't be easier. Just download the bios and extract (if it's a zip file) to a usb stick. Put the stick in the special usb port at the rear I/O panel and press the flashback button for 3 seconds.

I am sure it’s running 2104 already but will check. Maybe worth a reflash?

Yeah cpu has been @ 4.5ghz can’t remember off the top of my head what voltage it’s running. Will check later and let you know. Quickly run intel cpu checker before popping out and it passed on the imc check
