Can this be used without a fan? I’m using a ninja atm which is very good but you do need some sort of fan otherwise my E4400 at stock goes at 65c on about 55% load.

I’m using a Antec nsk4000 case and the only fan I have is the 120mm case fan and would like to do away with that, was wondering could it be done with the asus? My htpc setup only has a small 2.5" hdd and grabs everything off the server so doesn’t produce much heat, the case is big enough to dissipate most of the heat produced by the motherboard, fanless psu and vga card (silent 7600GT).

I'm not sure what you're asking tbh.

The Asus has a fan mounted internally, removing it would be folly as the heatsink is designed to work with airflow. You already have a Scythe Ninja which is probably the best passive cooler there is.

If you just want to use a single exhaust fan your case (recommended) try a Thermalright HR-01 (http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/main_product_hr01_775.htm) with the fan duct, although I can't tell where to purchase one because of forum rules.
