I bought a new rig, specs are in my signature, and it doesn't like running very well. The RAM seems to be running at a remarkably slow rate. I've read the Beginner's Guide to Overclocking, still can't make heads or tails of my situation.
I used a tool on Hiren's BootCD called The Troubleshooter 7.02. It ran the CPU test, fine, the motherboard test, fine, the RAM test, died. I tried to run MemTest, and it crashed, leaving a black screen with a blue box. I've been asking about in the Asus forums, but not getting very far there either. I read somewhere else after googling that I should go into OC settings and manually change the RAM voltage to between 2.2 and 2.3V - which I did, which did nothing. Then I went into the RAM overclocking menu and changed the tRFC value to between 52 and 62, still nothing (and by the way, I have no idea what tRFC is, all it said was it should be changed).
I'm quite frustrated at it, because its not the first PC I've built, and most of my PC builds have been successes. Any and all help would be much appreciated.
