Asus Striker II vs Asus Rampage II

Hi,

I was wondering which motherboard is better? They are about the same price sooo.. :rolleyes:

Rampage supports crossfire, and is much more stable, I'd go with that.

Do not go for the Striker II Extreme unless you are:

1. Watercooling
2. Know what you are doing

Otherwise you will only get headaches and pain when you will try to overclock. Don't get me wrong, it is an awesome board, but only after you spend months getting it stable.

Also, if you want any kind of a decent overclock, watercooling is ESSENTIAL. I am not watercooling at the moment, and I get bluescreens due to overheating motherboard.

It's all good.

If you are unsure, go for the Rampage II, much better board.

i have had the asus ramapge there amazing. when i upgraded to i7 had to buy the rampage extreme 2 mobo. and guess what its even better.

striker 2 is not that good,go for the rampage 2

It IS good. But only if you know what you are doing, and have a lot of time and patience, and are willing to iron out any problems.

I never had a problem with it at stock settings, however, it is very hard to acheive a stable overclock on it.

So can the Striker II run with i7 core and gtx 295 ( dont know much about motherboards) xD

no, it supports socket 775, so only core2 chips can run. It can run a 295, but if you want to use i7, you need an x58 motherboard
