Asus Strix GTX 980 - No DP output

Hi,

I've been running my Asus Strix 980 with a Display Port cable into the back of my Samsung S32D850D monitor for 4-5 months now with great success.

Today I took my PC to a mates to play some games on both his huge TV and my Oculus Rift DK2 (Oculus via HDMI adapter into DVI adapter, TV into HDMI port). All worked well.

Came home, plugged in my normal setup using DP, blank screens. At one point I got my BIOS screen flicker with very VHS-esque artifacting, before returning to black. My monitor senses it is plugged in as it shows a black screen rather than a no-input screen.

HDMI works fine, no issues at all.

I've used DDU to remove all drivers before reinstalling them again, but still no luck, the DP output (all three) seem to be dead.

Anything obvious I am missing, or should try? Or has my card decided to take a paddle up effluent creek?

This may seem as if I am looking at this from a weird angle....but check the seating of the video card and the power supply connections....
I am just wondering if something got disturbed in the transit of the PC. :)

Simon: This is on my list to do, sadly I do not have a spare one and most likely wont be able for a few days.

Trying: This is my thinking too, worked fine yesterday, today nothing, all that's happened is a quick 20 mile round trip on smoothish roads and a use of different ports than I normally do. The case I'm using doesn't really allow for any card movement (Parvum custom ITX job) so I can't see it moving, it's just not possible.

Do cables fail that often? It seems odd that it'd go for no reason?

This is a computer we are talking about here..... not a laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. :p
They almost have a mind of their own on many occasions these days. :D

Oh the joys, this computer was built to be "portable" too :D
