Hey guys

I have finally got my PC back up and running, main specs if you need them are

Asus Maximus VII Hero Motherboard
TeamGroup Vulcan RED 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit
Intel i7 4790k CPU
Inno3D GeForce GTX 980Ti Hybrid Black Edition

I wanted to get the best I can out of the monitor, I had a mate who used to do calibrations but he is no longer local, so I wanted to ask the guys that had these what they had the settings at and did they change from game to game?

You can set things on the side of the monitor (I turned the brightness down straight away it was way to bright lol) but I know there is the nVidia Control Panel as well, something I have never used as I have switched to nVidia so I can use the 3D side of things and have brought the nVidia 2 kit for doing so. I also read something about an ICC profile??

If anyone could spare the time to list there settings in detail so I could have a play I would be eternally grateful, as said this is all new to me and I haven't a clue where to start :(

Happy Xmas to all reading this :)

Chris

for night time use I have it on about brightness 40, contrast 50
you can use a website like lagom to get a grey test up to see if the colours need adjusting
iirc I have mine on user mode - 98 98 95

I'm not using an ICC proflile as that just messes things up on mine

in NVCP the most important thing is to set Gamma to about 0.80-0.90 (I have mine on 0.82)
you can also try dropping the brightness and contrast to 0.45 but again this is a personal preference thing

dropping the gamma and brightness via NVCP gets rid of the washed out look

there are some good test images on http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ that you can use to fine tune things to how you want

when using 3D you may want to turn the brightness back up (the monitor will do this itself to a certain extent) as the glasses block light to each eye making the whole thing look a bit dimmer when in use

ok great thank you :)

On a side note, when I do a screen resolution check, it says that the screen is 2560 x 1440 but if I then go into ADVANCED settings on the monitor tab the refresh rate is 59 is that right?
